At ESEI, your final project is a key component of your academic journey designed to prepare you for the realities of today’s business world. While both Master and MBA students complete a final project, the format and focus differ based on your programme.

 Master Thesis Project

The Thesis is a research-focused project that allows Master students to deeply explore a topic aligned with their career interests especially relevant for fields like Global Governance and International Organisations. It’s an opportunity to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical ability, and subject mastery through research, planning, negotiation, budgeting, and presentation.

You can choose from three formats:

  • An academic research paper
  • A detailed business plan
  • A strategic marketing plan

Each thesis must be between 6,000 to 10,000 words and reflect an understanding of current industry issues, trends, and innovations.

The duration of the programme depends on your choice of degree:

Master’s programmes accredited by UCAM are completed in 1 academic year.

MBA programmes (UCAM-accredited) has a duration of 1 to 1.5 academic years, depending on the study pace selected.

You can begin the programme in either the Fall or Spring semester.

Our Master and MBA classes run on weekdays in the evenings from 6pm to 9pm. You will have classes 2-4 times per week, which allows you to work and study at the same time.
Additionally, if you are a non-EU student who requires a student visa to study in Spain, our Master/MBA in International Relations and International Business, programme meets the student visa requirements of full time study in Spain which also allows you to work for up to 30 hours per week.

Students must attend at least 5 out of 7 sessions for each module. They cannot miss more than 2 classes for any reason. Absence will only be justified for observance of religious holidays. All Medical appointments, family commitments, etc. must fall within the allowed absence.

Each module within our International Relations and International Business programme has 4 assessment components:
A group submission (40%),
An individual submission (20%) and a
Formal oral presentation (20%) for your module project, as well as a
Participation grade (20%) based on your participation during classes.

Absolutely! As part of your studies, you will have the opportunity to engage with guest speakers from your field, and some course projects will involve collaboration with real businesses, giving you practical, hands-on experience. In addition, ESEI hosts guest speaker sessions throughout the year, including those tailored specifically to the International Relations and International Business, providing valuable insights to enhance your learning.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll have access to organised visits to local companies throughout the year, offering a unique perspective on Barcelona’s dynamic business environment. Past visits have included companies such as Oracle, Semrush, Schneider, Mediapro, and even Barcelona FC Stadium, to name just a few.
Moreover, ESEI organises an annual trip to a selected destination, open to students from all programmes. Our most recent trip was to Madrid, where participants visited leading organisations such as Microsoft, UNWTO, and Salesforce. These experiences provide an excellent opportunity to network, gain industry insights, and explore the wider professional landscape.

Internships are not mandatory for UCAM-accredited Master’s programmes. However, students are welcome to complete an internship alongside their studies at ESEI.

Barcelona offers a wide range of opportunities across multiple sectors, making it an ideal city to gain practical experience aligned with your career goals. ESEI regularly shares new internship opportunities on its digital platform, and students are strongly encouraged to attend networking events throughout the city, as building professional connections is an important part of accessing opportunities.

Yes. The Master´s in International Relations and International Business programme is accredited by Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM).

UCAM is a recognised Spanish university known for its academic quality and international outlook, with extensive partnerships with universities and companies worldwide.

The programme awards a UCAM Título Propio. This accreditation ensures the programme meets established academic standards while maintaining a strong practical and industry-focused approach.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will receive two qualifications:

A private Master’s degree from ESEI International Business School

A Título Propio universitario awarded by Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM)

The UCAM Título Propio is a university qualification awarded directly by UCAM, designed to combine academic rigor with practical, industry-focused learning.

You will receive your ESEI Master/IMBA in International Relations and International Business diploma at our graduation ceremony, which typically takes place in June or July. If you require proof of programme completion for employment or other purposes, ESEI can provide a signed confirmation letter until your official diploma is issued.

If you are eligible for the UCAM degree, it may take up to 12 months after completing all programme requirements for the diploma to be issued.

Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM)
Upon successful completion of the programme and fulfilment of the required credit requirements, students will receive one of the following qualifications, awarded directly by Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM):

Master’s Degree in Continuing Education in International Relations and International Business, or

Master’s Degree in International MBA inInternational Relations and International Business.

These qualifications are issued as UCAM Título Propio degrees.
