7 Top Barcelona events you can still catch in 2018
Barcelona is a city that never sleeps – and even as we head into autumn, there’s still plenty going on in the world of business and events.
People flock here from all over the world to make connections, discover new ideas and pitch their products. This means, for business students, there are many opportunities to network, learn about the industries you are interested in and network with like-minded people.
While you’re probably familiar with big international events like the Mobile World Congress, there are plenty of other top conferences and networking nights to get involved with.
We’ve put together 7 top events for you to attend, each with a different focus.
1. TedX Barcelona

You have probably heard of TED – which stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. It’s a non-profit organisation, founded in 1984, that has a mission to share ideas with people all over the world. TEDx is the popup, self-organised version and it takes place in cities all over the world – including in Barcelona. The event combines video talks and live speakers to start conversations, curiosity and connections.

2. Barcelona Tech Job Fair

4. Smart Mobility World Congress (SMWC)

5. Startup Grind Conference 2018

Startup Grind is an international organisation and a global community for entrepreneurs. The events feature talks, panel discussions and networking and Startup Grind Barcelona offers attendees the chance to meet a whole range of players in the international startup ecosystem – from influential investors, entrepreneurs, and developers to international journalists.
This is only the second Startup Grind event in Barcelona conference, but it’s already picking up a lot of steam – with over 700 attendees at the first edition. It’s certainly one of the top events to head to before the year is out.
6. HACKUPC

This event is perfect for anyone who considers themselves to be a hacker. This is the fifth event of its kind and organisers expect upwards of 700 hackers to attend. As with all hackathons, the aim with be to conceptualise and build a project with a team and create a prototype over the course of a very intense 36-hour weekend. The slogan says it all: “Dream it, Hack it, Ship it”.
Expect apps, games, robots, platforms and more. There’ll be chances to meet, network and even bond with your team.
7. International Conference on Education Technology Management

For those interested in the education technology, the International Conference on Education Technology Management in Barcelona is a must. The event has a mission to become the top international forum for Education Technology Management.
