Frequently Asked Questions
Applications must be received before 15th of June 2022. However, because we have limited places in our program, we do recommend that you start your application sooner rather than later to guarantee your spot.
Our Summer Language and Hospitality Course has a duration of 1 month. The programme starts with a welcome reception on the 1st of July, and classes start on the 4th of July and end on the 29th of July. After the course, you will start your internship from the months of August to October. The exact dates of your internship will be confirmed within the first weeks of your course at ESEI.
Is the Internship obligatory and what is the minimum period for taking one?
First of all, we're excited you're considering this program. Taking an internship is not obligatory within the programme, however, we do recommend taking advantage of it to gain experience. The minimum duration of an internship is 3 months, however, if you are unable to stay for the whole period, we can explore possibilities with our partners.
We recommend that you attend all classes. The only reason an absence would be justified is if you are unwell and can provide an official medical note. Remember that any absence will hinder your learning and thus likely jeopardise your results.
Our campus facilities do not include student dorms. However, we do provide a list of student residences close to our campus where you can live as well as student accommodation agencies that help you find your ideal home in Barcelona, with attractive promotional codes specific to our students. Find out more about Housing options here.
Do I need a student visa to attend the course and internship in Spain?
If you are an EU citizen or already have a permit to live in Spain or another EU country within the Schengen Zone, you will not need any extra permit to take our course. ESEI in collaboration with our internship provider will handle all requirements for you to successfully attend your internship programme.
If you are not an EU citizen and do not already have a Schengen Visa that would allow you to stay longer than 3 months in any of the 26 countries part of the agreement, you will need to apply for a student visa. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will provide you with more information on how to obtain your student visa. Every year we help students from all over the world get their student visas, so don’t worry! We’ve got your back :)
Prior to coming to Barcelona, please make sure that you have:
- An EU DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE / EU EQUIVALENT of COVID-19 vaccination or
- A negative certificate of an active infection diagnostic test / a recovery certificate after having this disease.
Additional information can be found on the following link. To learn about current restrictions in Catalonia you may visit the following webpage and for local COVID 19 data you may check the following link.
What is the refund policy in case I am unable to attend or the course is cancelled?
If you have to cancel your course due to a health emergency, don't worry! Any payments made will be redeemed as a credit for any future courses. This only applies if you cancel at least 14 days in advance, and you haven't already missed the course. We want to make this as easy as possible for you, so just let us know about your circumstances and we'll do our best to accommodate!
In the event that we do not have a minimum of five students for our programme, all amounts paid by students will be fully refunded.
