The programme begins with two years of on-campus study in Barcelona, where students complete ESEI’s Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Business Administration. During this stage, students develop a strong foundation across key business areas including management, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, economics, and digital business. Learning is highly applied, with project-based coursework guided by experienced academics, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs.

In the final year, students progress to a UK-accredited Level 6 BSc (Hons) in Business Management, awarded by Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) or The University of Law (Business School). Delivered online, this year allows students to deepen their strategic and managerial skills while earning an internationally recognised UK bachelor’s degree.

The BSc (Hons) in Business Management has a total duration of 3 years.

· Years 1 and 2 are delivered on campus in Barcelona, with each year running over two semesters: a Fall semester (typically from October to early February) and a Spring semester (typically from March to mid-June).

· Year 3 is completed online, leading to a UK-accredited Level 6 BSc (Hons) awarded by Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) or The University of Law (Business School).

For Levels 4 and 5, classes are delivered on campus at ESEI in the mornings only. Each module includes between 12 and 36 teaching hours and is typically spread over 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the module.
Level 6 is completed online or on campus and the structure depends on the accreditation pathway selected (Anglia Ruskin University or The University of Law). Module delivery, assessments, and timelines are defined by the awarding institution.
Across all levels, learning combines scheduled teaching with independent study, coursework, and project-based assessments designed to support academic progress and professional development.

Students enrolled in the BSc (Hons) in Business Management are required to attend at least 75% of all scheduled classes. This means students must attend a minimum of 18 out of 24 sessions per module and may not exceed 25% absence for any reason.
Absences are only formally justified for the observance of religious holidays. Medical appointments, family commitments, and other personal matters must be managed within the 25% allowance.

Each module within the BSc (Hons) in Business Management is typically assessed through a combination of:

· An individual assignment or exam

· A final assignment or group presentation at the end of the module

· Class participation throughout the course

Our Academic Department supports students with academic guidance, study planning, and any challenges related to coursework or adapting to academic life in Barcelona. If additional academic support is required, on-site tutors can be arranged at an extra cost.

Students also have access to Career Services throughout their studies, including career guidance, CV and LinkedIn support, interview preparation, and access to internship and job opportunities to support long-term career planning.

In addition, our Admissions team assists students with visa guidance and relocation support, helping with the admissions process, documentation, and practical advice for moving to and settling in Barcelona.

Yes. ESEI understands that circumstances can sometimes affect academic progress, and options are in place to support students if this happens.

Within the BSc (Hons) in Business Management, students may retake assignments in order to successfully pass a module. Please note that when a module is passed through a retake, the final grade is capped at a pass grade (40%).

There are two retake periods per academic year, one following the Fall semester and one following the Spring semester.

If necessary, students may also repeat a module when it is next offered in the academic calendar. Repeating a module is subject to additional module fees, and students are encouraged to use retake opportunities before choosing this option.

At ESEI, we believe learning is most effective in small group settings. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to support personalised, hands-on learning and meaningful interaction with lecturers.

Classes for the BSc (Hons) in Business Management typically range from 10 to 25 students, although this may vary depending on the course and intake period. If you would like more specific information about class sizes for a particular intake, our admissions team will be happy to assist.

Yes. As part of the BSc (Hons) in Business Management, students benefit from a range of guest speakers, industry projects, and professional events throughout the programme.

Modules regularly include real-world projects developed in collaboration with businesses, giving students practical insight into how organisations operate. In addition, ESEI hosts guest speaker sessions throughout the academic year, many of which focus on business, management, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Internships are not a mandatory part of the BSc (Hons) in Business Management. However, students are encouraged to pursue internships alongside their studies if they wish to gain additional professional experience.
