- Categories International MBA, ESEI Core Values, Online Masters

To mark the graduation of the Class of 2026, ESEI International Business School has planted 80 trees through its partnership with Tree-Nation, one of the world’s leading reforestation platforms. One tree for every graduate.
You can view the trees planted in honour of this year’s graduating cohort here: ESEI’s 2026 Graduation Forest, and explore the full impact and progress of ESEI’s growing forest here: ESEI’s Tree-Nation Profile.
Why This Matters
Graduation is a milestone that marks the beginning of something. A career, a new chapter, a set of responsibilities in the world. For ESEI, planting a tree for each graduate is a way of making that beginning tangible, connecting each student’s academic journey to something that will grow long after the ceremony is over.
Reforestation is one of the most effective tools available for addressing climate change, improving air quality, supporting biodiversity and creating economic opportunities in local communities. By partnering with Tree-Nation, ESEI contributes to projects that generate environmental, social and economic benefits across the globe.
A Commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
This initiative reflects ESEI’s broader commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligns with several of the goals most relevant to responsible education and global citizenship.
The trees planted contribute to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by improving air quality and supporting healthier environments through reforestation. They support SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through carbon sequestration and climate mitigation. They reflect SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging responsible environmental practices and helping to offset institutional carbon footprints.
The initiative also connects to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by raising awareness among students and staff about sustainability, climate action and environmental responsibility, and to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through ESEI’s collaboration with Tree-Nation and global reforestation projects.
Aligned With the European Higher Education Area
This initiative also reflects the principles of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which promotes social and environmental responsibility, the integration of sustainability into higher education, the development of globally minded graduates and international collaboration to address shared global challenges. At ESEI, these are not abstract commitments. They are expressed in how we teach, who we partner with and how we celebrate the milestones of our community.
To the Class of 2026
Eighty trees now growing in your honour. We hope they serve as a small but lasting reminder that your time at ESEI was about more than a qualification. It was about becoming the kind of professional and global citizen who leaves things a little better than they found them.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026. The forest grows with you.
