At ESEI International Business School, educational excellence is inseparable from a powerful commitment to environmental impact. ESEI is not only uplifting the quality of global education; it is also making waves on the sustainability front. Through innovation, international partnerships, and community engagement, we empower our students and team members to be forces for positive change.
Why Sustainability Belongs at the Heart of Education
- It creates responsible leaders
The right kind of education plants the seeds of environmental awareness and ethical business practices, preparing students to advocate for sustainable solutions in every industry. - It instills lifelong values
Student involvement in environmental initiatives helps ground sustainable habits that persist far beyond graduation. - Most importantly, it drives real-world change
When students engage with environmental projects, they don’t just learn about climate change, but actively participate in climate action.
ESEI x Tree Nation: Our Measurable Impact
Every student at ESEI is part of a community that takes purposeful climate action. For each graduate, a tree is planted in their honor—an enduring symbol of their academic journey and ESEI’s dedication to global restoration. Thanks to our partnership with Tree Nation, our efforts have taken root worldwide, with tangible results to show for it.
¨At ESEI, sustainability is not just a topic in our curriculum—it is at the center stage in every aspect of what we do,¨says ESEI Director Carlota Estera. ¨We are serious about equipping our students to become future leaders who can bring both voice and action to prevailing environmental and social issues. Our goal is to empower graduates to create positive change, not just in business, but in society as a whole,” she points out.
Our Sustainability Achievements So Far:
823 trees planted: Each tree marks a step forward in combating global deforestation and climate change.
0.75 hectares reforested: The land restored is critical for supporting ecosystems and preventing soil degradation.
152.21 tonnes of CO₂ captured: Our trees actively remove harmful emissions from the atmosphere.
Regional Highlights: Where We’re Making an Impact
Cameroon: (Cocoa Farmer Agroforestry)
191 trees, 0.191 hectares, 101.45 tonnes CO₂
Agroforestry helps smallholder cocoa farmers improve soil fertility, diversify crops, and increase income—all while storing a significant proportion (67%) of ESEI’s total captured CO₂.
Senegal: (Forest Garden Program)
185 trees, 0.185 hectares, 19.53 tonnes CO₂
Forest gardens provide communities with food security, income, and enhanced biodiversity, while helping to restore degraded land.
Tanzania: (Plant to Stop Poverty & Usambara Biodiversity Conservation)
162 trees (Plant to Stop Poverty), 0.162 hectares, 14.53 tonnes CO₂
Usambara Biodiversity Conservation: 7.84 tonnes CO₂
These initiatives fight poverty while supporting unique habitats and capturing carbon in threatened ecosystems.
Madagascar: (Eden Reforestation Projects)
109 trees
Vital reforestation efforts restore biodiversity in some of the world’s most endangered ecosystems.
Uganda: (Preservation of Mt. Elgon Ecosystem)
0.102 hectares
