This module introduces you to the current hot topics in the sports industry. The world is a fast-moving and rapidly-changing place, so how is the business of sport evolving and adapting itself to this global scenario? You will be asked to consider this question through the exploration of the industry’s most disruptive players, up-to-date developments and trending conversation points.
This course aims at analysing the Sports EcoSystem, composed of many different stakeholders. How do they interact, how do they monetize their business, what are their efforts to be sustainable? We´ll have a look at what are the latest trends in the Sports Industry as well as how sports has been affected by Covid 19.
Many changes are taking place in the sports business on a global level; new technologies are introduced into sports, leading to new business opportunities, new emerging superpowers such as China, Japan and India are appearing on the scene, social media are creating a complete different experience for the sports fans, eSports are interrupting traditional sports, the women sports are gaining importance and attracting new sponsors, smart stadiums are appearing all around the globe, elite athletes are converted into brands, and many more.

ESEI uses the project-based learning and assessment methodology across all modules taught in our master programs. This means that you will work together in groups to develop projects that require creativity, team work, and problem-solving skills.
The main benefit of Project-Based Learning is that by the time you graduate, you will essentially have a portfolio of work to show which will be directly applicable to what you’ll be doing as a future employee or business owner.
It’s up to the teacher to decide on the format of the project – it can be a case study, a written report, a video, a role-playing activity, a podcast, or any other kind of media that gets your point across. The teachers create the project briefs and oversee the progress that teams are making week after week with regular check-in points.
