This module helps you to discern the various industries and sectors that make up the tourism industry and its economic repercussions, and understand how a successful public-private partnership is key for sustainable, effective and long-term tourism development. It makes the most of our location in a key centre of tourism, as you examine the key factors of the Barcelona business tourism model. You will also explore new trends in tourism by taking the case of Barcelona as a model for new types of tourist offerings, and examine each of them, their attraction and positioning, and the conditions and circumstances which facilitate their success.
● Apply the results of your experiential case study practice to evaluate the economic and social impact of tourism on specific cities in Europe.
● Using the four blocks model, identify and evaluate the impact, efficacy and commercial potential of specific trends which are emerging in tourism sectors/businesses of your choice.

ESEI uses the project-based learning and assessment methodology across all modules taught in our master programs. This means that you will work together in groups to develop projects that require creativity, team work, and problem-solving skills.
The main benefit of Project-Based Learning is that by the time you graduate, you will essentially have a portfolio of work to show which will be directly applicable to what you’ll be doing as a future employee or business owner.
It’s up to the teacher to decide on the format of the project – it can be a case study, a written report, a video, a role-playing activity, a podcast, or any other kind of media that gets your point across. The teachers create the project briefs and oversee the progress that teams are making week after week with regular check-in points.
