Born and raised in Iran, Parisa Amirsadeghi had already built a strong professional background before moving abroad. She worked in project management and collaborated with leading brands, developing valuable experience in marketing and communication. After several successful years, she began looking for new challenges that would broaden her horizons and give her an international perspective.
Parisa and her partner, who shared similar professional interests, decided to take this next step together. Their search for growth and opportunity led them to Spain, a country she describes as full of potential, and eventually to ESEI Business School Barcelona, where they both decided to pursue the Master’s in Marketing and Communication programme.
Finding the Right Programme
When Parisa discovered ESEI’s master’s degree in Marketing and Communication, it immediately resonated with her career goals. “We saw that ESEI had a marketing and communication programme, and that was exactly what we were doing back in Iran,” she explains. “Until that day, I didn’t even know there was a programme that actually teaches this, so I was very interested. We applied, got accepted, and moved.”
Her journey to Barcelona, however, wasn’t without challenges. Parisa’s first visa application was rejected, meaning she missed the start of her first semester. But ESEI offered her constant support. “They told me not to worry and that I could continue from the second block,” she recalls. “They even contacted the embassy about the deadlines. They really helped me a lot, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”
From ESEI Student to Business Development Manager
After completing her degree, Parisa had the opportunity to work at ESEI for a few months, applying her marketing and communication skills in a professional setting. “I was hired at ESEI for around three months,” she says. “It was a really nice experience, just like studying there.”
Soon after, she received an offer from Investate, a Spanish–Iranian company that helps international investors obtain residency in Spain and invest across Europe. “I’m now the Business Development Manager at Investate,” Parisa explains. “I find companies and brands that want to attract foreign investors, and I help investors find the best opportunities. I’m constantly in contact with Spanish entrepreneurs and businesses.”
Building Bridges Between Cultures
Parisa’s favourite part of her job is connecting with accomplished entrepreneurs and introducing them to her culture. “Every day, I’m in contact with successful people, entrepreneurs who have built their own businesses,” she says. “At the same time, I love representing my country. Many people don’t know much about Iran, so I tell them about our history, art and culture. They get very interested, and it really satisfies me.”
Lessons from ESEI: Communication and Confidence
Reflecting on her experience at ESEI, Parisa says the school helped her grow both professionally and personally. “I consider myself an introvert,” she admits. “When I first came to ESEI, I wasn’t very willing to communicate with people. But studying and working there taught me that I can have effective communication with people from all over the world. I made friends from everywhere, and I have stories to tell now.”
She also highlights how ESEI’s hands-on learning approach prepared her for her career. “We had projects from real companies and had to find solutions for real problems,” she recalls. “Those experiences taught me a lot.”
Advice for Future Students
When asked what advice she would give to current or future ESEI students, Parisa smiles. “Enjoy it to the most, for real,” she says. “Take every opportunity you have. Even if sometimes you think something doesn’t relate to you, trust me, it will help you one day.”
She encourages students to keep learning and building new skills. “Improve as many skills as you can, whether it’s Spanish, negotiation, communication or storytelling. Anything that helps you grow will be useful someday, even if you don’t realise it now. And trust the process. As long as you’re improving yourself, better opportunities will come.”
Looking Ahead
Parisa continues to build her international career at Investate while staying true to her personal mission. “I want to make a good mark of myself in the world,” she says. “I don’t want to just come and go without making a difference. I want to help people and have a positive effect in whatever I do.”
