ESEI Business School together with IMBA students invite you to a unique event on the International Environmental Education Day (January 26)
On 26 January we will be holding an Environmental Education Day to educate citizens on a few of the many aspects of sustainability through workshops on food waste, circular economies, and the homeless problem in Barcelona. The event will serve to educate individuals on how they can make a change in their daily lives as well as their future or current businesses. It will end with some time to socialize with food and drinks, and network with peers and professionals and the representative from a local NGO, Esperanca.
We will start with a guest speaker and this will be followed by two different workshops that will run in parallel.
16:30-17:00 – Guest Speaker Vanya : ESPERANCA and organized by Daniel Wrazen, Eduardo Garcia, Sarah Thornburg and Fernando Linares
A voluntary presentation by a member of Esperanca, where they will talk about the organization, the importance of their mission, and encourage students to volunteer with them. It will be followed up by a Q&A
Esperanca is a locally run non-profit organization in Barcelona that coordinates volunteers to provide, food, clothing, and other necessary items to the homeless population throughout the city. They are always looking for new volunteers who want to help make a change in Barcelona!
17:00-17:30 – Workshop 1: WASTE LESS SAVE MORE delivered by Roos Robben, Sandra Bauerfeind, Niklas Samland and Ana Corazza
An informative and helpful workshop concerning food waste, the immense impact it has on the planet, and how it wastes money for individuals as well. It will include a presentation on food waste and tips for grocery shopping to decrease waste and save money while shopping.
17:00-17:30 – Workshop 2: CIRCULAR ECONOMY delivered by Alexander Gagliani, Miguel Maestas, Swapnil Pandit and Isabelle Van Duijse
Short presentation on circular economy and a fun interactive Kahoot game as a quiz based on the information presented. This is a great way to tie sustainability back into business.
Prizes in the form of ESEI merchandise for the winner of the quiz.
Esei will be planting one tree thanks to our collaboration with TREE-NATION and will also donate 2€ to Esperanca’s NGO for every person attending the event.
17:30-18:00 – We will wrap up this event with snacks and networking in ESEI’s wonderful garden.
This project is part of the module in Sustainability and Social Impact, Esei’s IMBA students have been working together with professor Victoria Masters and Esei’s team to make it happen!
