We are proud to announce that ESEI International Business School is now an official member of two significant associations in European higher education: AEEN, the Spanish Association of Business Schools (Asociación Española de Escuelas de Negocios), and EUPHE, the European Union of Private Higher Education.
These memberships mark a meaningful step forward for ESEI and for everyone who is part of our community: students, alumni, partners, faculty, and staff.
What Is AEEN?
AEEN was founded in 1997 with a clear purpose: to bring together leading business schools across Spain, represent their shared interests, and raise the standard of professionally oriented education throughout the country.
Member schools collaborate to exchange best practices, develop joint initiatives, and uphold quality standards that reflect the real demands of the business world. AEEN’s focus on practical, professionally grounded education aligns closely with the way ESEI has always approached teaching and learning. The association currently brings together nearly 30 member schools across Spain, making it one of the most relevant national bodies for business education in the country.
For ESEI, becoming part of this network means joining a community of peer institutions that share a commitment to rigorous, practical, and career-focused business education.
What Is EUPHE?
EUPHE, the European Union of Private Higher Education, represents private higher education institutions at the European level. Its role is to give member institutions a collective voice on the continent, strengthen their international standing, and connect them with a wider network of European peers.
Membership of EUPHE places ESEI within a broader European framework, increasing its visibility and reinforcing its identity as an internationally minded institution. For a school that has held an international outlook at its core since it was founded in 1989, this recognition at the European level is a logical and welcome development.
What These Memberships Mean for ESEI
Joining AEEN and EUPHE is not just a matter of adding logos to our website. It reflects where ESEI stands today and the direction in which we are growing.
In practical terms, these memberships provide ESEI with stronger institutional credibility both nationally and across Europe. They give our programmes greater visibility within the private higher education sector and place us within a network that advocates for quality standards and academic integrity.
For students, it means choosing a school that is formally recognised within Spain’s business education landscape and respected at the European level. For partners and companies that collaborate with us, it reinforces that ESEI meets the quality benchmarks and professional standards that these bodies represent. For our faculty and staff, it signals that the work we do here is valued beyond our own walls.
Specifically, these memberships bring:
- National and European institutional recognition for ESEI and its programmes
- Stronger sector representation and advocacy within private higher education
- Enhanced academic credibility and positioning
- Access to collaborative initiatives and shared best practices across member institutions
- Alignment with established quality standards in business education
Why It Matters
ESEI has always operated with a clear sense of purpose: to educate professionals who are ready for the real world, equipped with the skills, perspective, and character to make a genuine difference. Since our founding in 1989, that mission has not changed. What has changed is the scale at which we operate and the scope of recognition we carry.
Membership of AEEN connects us more deeply to the national conversation about what business education should look like in Spain. Membership of EUPHE extends that conversation to the European stage.
Together, these affiliations reinforce ESEI’s commitment to academic excellence, institutional integrity, and meaningful international collaboration. They are not end points; they are part of an ongoing commitment to building a school that earns its reputation through the quality of its graduates and the strength of its community.
Looking Ahead
We are grateful for the recognition these memberships represent and enthusiastic about the opportunities they bring. In the months ahead, we will be exploring how to make the most of both networks through collaborative projects, shared initiatives, and events that bring value to our students and partners.
