Volunteering in Barcelona: 4 effective ways to impact
- Categories International MBA, ESEI Community, ESEI Core Values
ESEI students help homeless people as part of their Sustainability and Business Impact class.
Every year, about 40 homeless people die on the streets of Barcelona. According to the Arrels Foundation, 5200 people are currently homeless in the Catalan capital, and 1456 sleep outside.
How can we help them by becoming a volunteer in Barcelona?
- Donate clothes and food
- Offer sleeping bags
- Participate in the homeless census
- Support a concrete project
Thanks to the sustainability and business impact module, ESEI Students joined 𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐀 association. It is a group of volunteers who go out twice a week to give food, clothing, and a bit of love to the homeless on the streets of Barcelona.
The professor of this module, Victoria Master, organized an activity with IMBA students in order to raise awareness about this cause and motivate ESEI students to help people in need around Barcelona.
At ESEI, we do share many values. We want our students to be aware of what is happening around them, particularly when it comes to helping people in need. Because being a successful leader it is also improving people’s lives and making our world a better place.
Values are the core of who we are. They are our motivators, our drivers, the passion in our hearts, and the reason why we do the things we do. They represent our integrity, and they are often at odds with current business trends but they will never change and what ESEI really want is for the students to be better people, not just higher earners. We believe that the beginning of creating a successful company lies in creating a successful environment and values are an important part of creating an environment that feels right.
You can join a walk, host a walk, or support with donations.
PS: We have placed a box in our garden for donations from ESEI students.
