5 reasons why ESEI’s Master’s in Digital Marketing programme is awesome

The internet’s drastic evolution over the last quarter century has created countless jobs and opportunities in the virtual realm. Digital marketing is one of them. All the online advertisements, written content and images you see are related to the work of a digital marketer.

With more of the world moving online in the last years, the demand for digital marketers has skyrocketed. As such, there has never been a more perfect time to study the subject.

At ESEI, we’ve recently revamped our Digital Marketing Master’s Programme thanks to special consultation from the expert digital marketing all-rounder Maria José Barrera. The programme gives students a strong overview of the world of the field. Furthermore, it aims to equip students with the tools and skills they need to move into the profession upon graduation.

Want to know more about ESEI’s Digital Marketing programme? Read on to find out why you should study with us below.

1. Gain in-depth knowledge in digital marketing

Our digital marketing programme stands out first and foremost for its in-depth and thorough content. We offer a complete overview of ten different areas of digital marketing, ranging from SEO and Analytics to Social Media and Mobile Marketing – all of which are crucial for the 21st century digital world.

The programme includes the following modules:

  • CRM and Data
  • SEO
  • Analytics
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Mobile Marketing
  • ECommerce
  • Design and User Experience
  • Content Marketing
  • Inbound Marketing

Students also have to complete a specialised thesis project. Rather than doing academic research, they are required to do a complete analysis of a website and digital marketing strategy from a company of their choice.

This is beneficial for students as it gives them the opportunity to integrate and apply their learnings explored throughout the course into practice. They will leave ESEI ready to take on the world of digital marketing.

2. Learn from leading digital marketing experts

At ESEI, we pride ourselves on our rich and diverse team of lecturers, all of whom come from different professional backgrounds. They bring together diverse skills, ideas and insights. Their goal is to enrich the lives of our students, opening their eyes to new concepts and experiences.

Some of the professors teaching on our Digital Marketing programme include:

Luca Delloro – After working for Unilever and Nestle, Luca founded his own marketing consultancy, Gold Agency. He is also the Founder and Owner of SportCom, a company dedicated to Sport Marketing in Europe. Read our interview with Luca about the future of business and marketing

Anna Astals – Anna is an Email Marketing and Digital CRM Specialist. She is involved in several digital marketing and advertising projects. She is also a lecturer in several universities.

Elisenda Williams – Elisenda is a Social Media Strategist specialised in developing and implementing digital strategies in social media networks and coordinating full digital marketing campaigns.

Ovidijus Saldauskas – Ovidijus is a Digital Marketing Specialist with over 5 years of experience in search engine marketing, SaaS solutions and HR solutions.

Michael Jessen  – With almost 10 years of experience in the field of digital marketing, Michael specialises in online advertising and mobile marketing. He’s Product Marketing Manager at SocialPoint.

3. Gain practical experience through project-based learning

We apply a project-based learning approach to all of our master’s programmes. Students work on practical projects and build strategies and campaigns based on real companies. The objective is to provide them with hands-on experience with key digital marketing tools.

For every module on the course, students participate in a group project. They develop this throughout the course, researching, creating and working with classmates effectively and efficiently.

We encourage students to interpret projects as they wish, putting their own stamp on the work they do. This means that students have the opportunity to use their creativity and imagination, which gives them complete autonomy of thinking.

Finally, students must deliver a presentation of what they’ve created at the end of the course. Not only does this give them excellent public speaking experience, it will give them a practical goal to work towards.

4. Enjoy limitless networking opportunities

We believe in building a professional community early on. One way of doing this is through networking. It’s an essential part of building a successful career and opens doors to opportunities that you may not find otherwise.

In order to help you, we have a range of events, talks and workshops that can kickstart your professional networking journey. We regularly organise and participate in networking events, both in-person and online. This year we have taken students to Startup Grind and Get Together which are two of Barcelona’s most attended networking events.

Furthermore, we invite guest speakers in the field of digital marketing to come and give talks to our community of students. You will have the opportunity to directly meet and interact with these professionals. The idea is to gain knowledge about their field and expand your professional network by getting to know them.

Finally, we offer several modules and workshops in which you can learn how to build a LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn is one of the most effective professional networking social networks out there. We can teach you how to make sure you’re using it to its highest potential.

5. Build 21st-century skills

All our master’s programmes aim to provide students with the skills considered key to success in the 21st century workplace. These include a range of soft skills, such as negotiation, critical thinking, digital literacy, adaptability and problem-solving.

On top of these, we aim to aid the development of several hard skills as well. We teach these throughout the course modules. Specific to Digital Marketing, these skills include learning how to build and carry out an effective SEO strategy, as well as optimising email campaigns and analysing the results.

Of course, our project-based approach to teaching ensures that students are also gaining direct experience of their chosen subject. They pick up the skills they need for work in digital marketing through the research and creation of their final projects – something which is very attractive to future employers.
